Two Adventures in a Single App

Powered by augmented reality, the Official Doctor Who Virtual TARDIS app packs two separate experiences into one download.

Take the Controls of the TARDIS

Let your imagination take over as your device becomes the Doctor's TARDIS. Motion controls track every movement, so you have full command of the flight. Rest the device on a flat surface to land, complete with authentic light and sound effects. Lift it to take off, tilt and move to steer, and build up speed to launch into the Time Vortex and roam the universe.

Bring the TARDIS into the Real World

Aim your camera as if you were about to take a photo and watch the TARDIS spin overhead — or tap the spot on the ground where you want it to land and see it appear right before your eyes. Rotate and resize it to frame the perfect shot, then share your images on Facebook, Twitter or Flickr.

What the App Offers

  • Pick your TARDIS version — the app includes the Tenth and Eleventh Doctor's designs along with the TARDIS from the 80s, the 70s and the original from 50 years ago. Choosing the classic design even switches everything to black and white, just like the First and Second Doctor's adventures.
  • Motion controls steer the virtual TARDIS, and the live augmented reality background lets you play seamlessly alongside other toys.
  • Fly fast to enter the Time Vortex and visit distant galaxies, then fly back to return to the real world — your imagination sets the limit.
  • Tap the TARDIS to open the door and peek inside.
  • Authentic graphics and sound effects from the world's most successful science-fiction series.
  • Share photos of your virtual TARDIS adventures on social media with #DoctorWho #VirtualTARDIS.

Get Out and Explore the Universe

Since the Doctor "borrowed" his TARDIS from the repair shop on Gallifrey, he has roamed the endless wonders of the universe. Whether you fly your virtual TARDIS to the planet Skaro or just to the end of the garden path, get out there and explore.
